The Plan of Salvation

The "Roman Road" often used to illustrate a "plan of salvation" was written to people who were already believers, Jesus was knocking on the door of a church of people who were already believers. There is no sinner's prayer in the Bible.

Jesus preached "Repent (Change your ways)! For the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand." (Matt 4:17} He taught that we will be judged worthy of heaven or hell based on how we treat the poor, thirsty, sick and imprisoned. (Matt. 25)

The greatest field of unrepentant sinners are Fundamentalist Christians who call evil "good" and good "evil." (Isa. 5:20) And the only hope of reaching some is to live the Golden Rule in front of them.

Southern Democrats, Southern Republicans, and Northern Republicans fought the Civil Rights Act, it passed because if Northern Democrats and a few Northern Republicans. Afterwards, Southern Democrats left the Democratic Party and, after briefly experimenting with their own party, (Dixiecrats) began showing up at Republican Party meetings en masse and took them over.

Nixon's "Southern Strategy" cemented the relationship between Southern racism and the Republican Party.

In its heyday, the KKK membership was predominately Southern Baptist who once were typically Southern Democrat but are now typically Republican.

Taxes

Jesus and Paul were both very clear on taxes. Pay them without complaint. It's the government's money anyway.

The dollar is backed by the "full faith" of the US govt. and is only as strong as our economy. Cutting taxes and assisting the poor puts money into the economy since the poor spend their money, cutting taxes on the rich cripples the economy because even the rich can only buy so much butter. Money does not trickle down, it flows upstream and when you cut taxes on the rich, you damn the flow.

As to helping the poor, the Old Testament makes the poor the responsibility of the govt and the individual while the New Testament makes the poor the responsibility of the Church and the individual. God allowed Israel to be destroyed and Judah to be taken captive to Babylon because of their treatment of the poor. And he will not spare America.

2 Thessalonians 3:10

For even when we were with you, we gave you this rule: "The one who is unwilling to work shall not eat."

Paul said this because many in the church believed Jesus's return was eminent and had stopped working, depending on others to support them.

Paul did not write this to say to not feed those who are poor through no fault of their own who are willing to work in an economy where few jobs are available.

The Bible tells us that in the presence of two or three witnesses things are established, to build a doctrine on one verse that appears to contradict thousands of other verses is also in error.

The Kingdom of Antichrist

In the Old Testament, we gave God 10% of what is ours. In the New Testament, we have been "purchased with a price." Therefore, we, and all in our possession belong to God. We are merely stewards of God's property.

And everything in our possession was put there to advance the Kingdom of God by feeding the poor, healing the sick, etc. (Matt 25]. We are not American Citizens first, we are citizens of a Kingdom and serve as "Ambassadors" to the earthly kingdom we were born to. The response to taxes is, "Who's name is on the Dollar, give to the United States of America what belongs to the United States of America and give to God what belongs to God.

Capitalism, at least as it is currently practiced is the opposite of everything the Bible teaches. We have gone so far away from Christ's teaching in this country that we put money above human life.

We are a nation that serves Mammon dressed in a "White Jesus" Halloween costume and give our children to the NRA to be sacrificed to Moloch so gun manufacturers can earn more money. Indeed, we are a Kingdom of Antichrist by claiming to be Christian while doing the opposite of his teachings.

The world produces enough to support either all of mankind's need or one man's greed.

Almost everyone throughout the world has heard of Jesus and most don't reject Him... they reject Conservative Christianity.

While the terminology may be dated, it must be remembered that the Kingdom of God has an upside down hierarchy. The greatest are those who serve others today and those on the top of the heap today will be on the bottom in the coming kingdom. Today's poor await treasures in heaven while the earthly wealthy already have their reward.

And to me, a bit of poverty for the 70ish years one spends on earth is well worth the coming reward.

When we feed the poor, we feed Jesus (Matt 25), when America declared war on the poor, America declared war on Jesus.

God never commanded us to love our spouses, children, grand children, or our BFFs. Loving them comes naturally to most people.

We are, however commanded to love God, our neighbor, and our enemies. Those we have to work at.

I was sitting in school 5 miles away in Ravenna, Ohio while our government was murdering kids not much older than me at Kent State for having the audacity to protest our government's handling of the Vietnam war. Weeping for Zion

The Christian Right is partially correct, if the church was obeying Jesus instead of building elaborate churches and cathedrals, we wouldn't need the government to step in and help the poor, but a person of compassion is glad to see the poor get the help from anywhere while he does what he can and weeps for what the Church has become (Ezekiel 9).
