2 Thessalonians 3:10

For even when we were with you, we gave you this rule: "The one who is unwilling to work shall not eat."

Paul said this because many in the church believed Jesus's return was eminent and had stopped working, depending on others to support them.

Paul did not write this to say to not feed those who are poor through no fault of their own who are willing to work in an economy where few jobs are available.

The Bible tells us that in the presence of two or three witnesses things are established, to build a doctrine on one verse that appears to contradict thousands of other verses is also in error.
